Childhood
For the longest time, Nobody really knew about Noodle's past or childhood, not even
herself. It wasn't until Gorillaz first hiatus (2002-2004) that Noodle set off to find herself and discover her past. She
went back to Osaka, Japan to find out her past. She met with her old creator and mentor, Mr. Kuyzo, who explained to her what
her past was like and whyshe couldn't remember it.
Noodle was a test tube baby who was created by Mr. Kyuzo for a project by the Japanese
government. She along with many other children were created to be used as human weapons. Each child was given his or her own
special talent, Noodle had her guitar skills. Then, Mr. Kyuzo recieved warning that the whole project needed to be called
off and all evidence had to be destroyed--including the children themselves. Noodle was the only one that was spared. For
her won safety, Mr. Kuyzo wiped Noodle's memory of everything, expect for her guitar skills, (and breathing, probably) and
shipped her to England via Fed Ex.
Joining Gorillaz
Noodle arrived at a building called Kong Studios through a Fed Ex box and was
dropped off at the doorstep at the age of ten. It was rather conincidental for the 3 men who lived there because these 3
men were in a band, and they needed a guitarist, and Noodle definatly could fill that void. One of the 3 fellas, Murdoc Niccals, had taken the crate in to Kong, and rounded up his mates to see what was
inside, and out jumped the energetic little japanese girl, ready to play and everything. She played her guitar, showing
off her great guitar skills. The 3 men, Murdoc Niccals, Stu-Pot (Now christened, "2D") and Russel Hobbs were highly impressed and they realized that their search was now over. The band was complete
and they were ready to perform.
Noodle's "death"
In 2006, Gorillaz realesed the music video for their single, El Manana. In
the video Noodle was believed to have 'died' in the process because it shows her in her floating windmill island, which was
fired down by black hawk helicopters. But really, what happened was meant to symbolize something. The helicopters represent
war and government, Noodle represents childhood, and the windmill island represents mental freedom. The message is that war
is the descruction of mental freedom.
Currently, she resides in hell due to a freak accident that was meant tio take Russel
away but they grabbed Noodle instead. According to Murdoc Niccals:
Well…It’s funny. After the first album Russel had this big mad breakdown. He had
the spirit of Del exorcised out of him by the Grim Reaper. Which kind of sent him mental. He tried to record a solo album
but then he was saying that all these demons were flying out the speakers trying to eat him. Everyone thought he’d just
gone loopy. “Living in a basement with Ike Turner”. Turns out tho he was right. The Demons were real! You couldn’t
really make it up. So next thing we know is after Noodle disappeared after The El Manana video incident, we hear this voice
coming out of the basin basement room of Kong. Out of a radio. Turns out that when these demons couldn’t get hold of
Russ, they grabbed Noodle instead. Dragged her downstairs, to Hades! So of course it fell to muggings here, (that’s
me), to go on some epic Odysseus type journey into The Underworld to try and rescue her. It’s all tied up with contract
I signed with Beelzebub that shoe-horned Gorillaz up the charts in the first place. He was cocked off about some late payment
of my eternal soul, or something stupid. He as well as anyone should know that these type of payments take time to come through.
I mean, well, everyone’s got their demons to battle. It’s just that mine take on a more physical form and have
names like “Alichino”, “Lilith”, “Baphomet” “Sidragasum”, “Xitragupten”
and so on….I guess that’s what you get if you’re born in a mental asylum named after a demon called Belphegor.
Still I was never bored as a child. Yup…never bored.
Which was quoted form Murdoc Facebook chat. (Wihich is quote that belongs respectivly
to JH and DA) Murdoc is on his way to hell to rescue Noodle, but if you ask me, he's taking forever to do so. Once Noodle
is rescued, gorillaz most likey should continue on......or not.
Noodle's "vocals"
Noodle's guitar is provided by Mr. Simon Tong but several women have come in to perfom
as Noodle in these Gorillaz songs:
